My stroy

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from King Abdulaziz University, Faculty of Dentistry (KAUFD), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2005. I was appointed as a faculty at the same university and earned a scholarship in 2007. I started my graduate study journey in 2008 and earned my Master’s Degree in Operative Dentistry in 2010 from Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) at Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I immediately started my PhD journey and earned my PhD degree in 2017 from the Graduate School at IUPUI.
During my PhD I faced challenges, and I persevered with grit to achieve my goals. After 5 years of being enrolled in the PhD program, I decided to change my PhD project. It took me seven years to earn my PhD degree, but I do not regret anything and would not change anything. These challenges helped shape me to the person I am today. I am so grateful for my mentor Dr. J.A. Platt, the PhD program Director Dr. R. Gregory, and Dr. M. Kowolik the Vice Dean of Faculty affairs for all of their help and support during the challenges I faced. I am also so grateful for my family and friends that stood by my side every step of the way.
After spending 9 years in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA and earning my Graduate degrees, I came back home to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Coming back was not easy after living almost a decade away from home. After one year, I was struggling with finding the motivation and going to work in the morning, struggling to find a balance between work and the other aspects of my life. I realized I do not want to live that way, so I seeked help from several coaches, which I am grateful for all, but one coach what inspired me the most was the Gallup Strengths Coaching.
